NTRX - just don't bet your farm on it, that may be what Dale really meant, I guess. I got similar skepticism when I mentioned ADAP, LOL.

This CBS news has come coverage:
cbs.marketwatch.com

What got me interested is this 1/19 piece from one of my regular emails from a good source:

"Netrix and OpenROUTE merger pays off
19 January 2000

Nx Networks (Nasdaq: NTRX), the new joint entity resulting from a merger between Netrix and OpenROUTE, seems to have established its position in IP telephony market. At least, that looks like to be the view of the investors. The share price of Nx has rallied from $2 in late October 1999 (just after the time of merger announcement) to $28 recently. Following the merger announcement, both companies reported positive 3Q results. This was followed by a $10 million deal with Sonic Telecom for deploying the vendor's equipment.

When the merger was approved by the shareholders in December 99, analysts upgraded Nx to Strong Buy rating. Today Nx commands a market value of over $750 million. The proposed merger originally had a combined equity market value of approximately $114 million.

Nx has since acquired another voice-over-data outfit, AetherWorks Corporation, a privately held provider of convergence solutions, including soft switch technology.

Netrix's VoIP solutions combined with OpenROUTE's security, firewall, VPN and enhanced IP performance products have allowed the merged organization to offer a range of scalable products delivering infrastructure-independent virtual private voice and data networks"

It has run too much too fast, so I just started a tiny position so I can watch it closely.

Another VoIP play got in my Radar screen last night - EGHT. This news piece is interesting. EGHT has a nice run yesterday after this:

Not in this one yet, but will watch developments. Could be an interesting "sister play" with NTRX.
