PairGain Announces RapidLaunch Global Services and Marketing Program; New Program Helps Customers Implement and Leverage DSL Investments PR Newswire - January 25, 2000 08:25
WASHINGTON, D.C., COMNET 2000, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- PairGain(R) Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: PAIR), the power behind DSL access(TM), today announced the introduction of RapidLaunch(TM), a global support and marketing assistance program designed to provide comprehensive services tailored to fit the individual needs of carriers, service providers and enterprises. From on-site installation to deployment assistance to maintenance support, RapidLaunch offers a wide variety of specialized services to help PairGain customers implement and leverage their DSL investments. Hear more about RapidLaunch at ComNet, booth #428.
"As service providers and enterprises expand their DSL capabilities, they continue to face challenges with designing, maintaining, and supporting the network infrastructure. PairGain's RapidLaunch solution is designed to relieve the burden of managing the process internally and to let PairGain and its partners provide the focused skills and expertise that customers need," said Richard Dean, senior research analyst of IDC's Network Support and Integration Services research program.
"PairGain's culture is built around customer satisfaction," said Steve Doran, vice president of PairGain's Global Services and Support. "RapidLaunch reaffirms that guiding principle and will help us achieve a position as a total solution provider. The program rounds out our portfolio, so we now have a global service infrastructure that matches our world class product offerings."
The RapidLaunch program consists of two distinct components: Global Support Services and Global Marketing Assistance.
Global Support Services (GSS) focuses primarily on installation, maintenance and technical assistance. Three contracted options -- RapidRollout(TM), RapidRecovery(TM), and RapidResponse(TM) -- cover the spectrum of networking support options.
-- RapidRollout includes programs designed to bring a customer's network into service smoothly and effectively. Chief among these are turnkey EF&I, on-site test and turn up and technical training. -- RapidRecovery zeroes in on on-site maintenance. RapidRecovery customers have unrestricted 24/7 access to the Technical Assistance Center (TAC), an expert team dedicated to speedy problem resolution, and are eligible to receive all system software maintenance updates. Two on-site tech support options are also available, Basic and Premier. The on-site Premier package offers either four- or eight-hour response times, depending on distance from a PairGain service center, while the on-site Basic option offers response time commitments for critical failures during normal business hours. -- RapidResponse links customers directly with a TAC specialist at any time. The TAC Service option features 24/7 access to technical support coupled with a return-to-factory parts exchange plan. The TAC and Parts Service option provides always-available TAC support plus a free 48 hour turnaround advance faulty parts exchange. A standalone Software Maintenance Service option is also available.
"No DSL marketing initiative is complete without the expertise PairGain provides through RapidLaunch Global Marketing Assistance," said Stephen Pallavicini, vice president marketing services and communications. "With this program, PairGain gives the power behind DSL access to all our customers, so they translate our experience into their business success." Global Marketing Assistance (GMA) concentrates on early or pre-deployment marketing support, as well as post-deployment consulting and training. GMA features two tailor-designed options that can help customers profit from the lucrative DSL market.
-- RapidStart comprises Business Planning and Launch Assistance to eliminate trial and error deployment and help customers grow their business quickly. PairGain also offers cooperative marketing funds to support customers' deployment and promotion initiatives. -- RapidProgression includes Consultant Services, Training, and New Service Deployment services designed to help participants maximize revenues by expanding service offerings with voice over DSL (VoDSL), voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), virtual private networks (VPNs), and more.
PairGain's RapidLaunch program represents a considerable investment in the company's service business in order to deliver unparalleled customer satisfaction and create competitive advantage.
"Our service infrastructure is expanding all the time," continued Doran. "Right now we have local tech support capability in close to 30 major U.S. cities, and logistics centers in 25 U.S. and five international sites. Plus, our in-house marketing experts are eager to put their skills to work whenever and wherever required. Our support readiness is at an all time high -- and that's where it will stay."
