Uh, no. It looks to me like HP wrote the sentence in question themselves:

"The AMD Athlon processor - the industry's first seventh-generation x86 microprocessor - significantly outperforms the sixth-generation Pentium III at the same clock speed"

Apparently HP thinks that AMD's benchmarks are more legitimate than Intel's funny-compiler benchmarks. Otherwise the link would have been to Intel's benchmark page.

The statement is not in a quotation, it is NOT said on behalf of AMD. HP wrote the sentence, it is their word.
