Could have something to do with the fact Pd hit $491/oz and CGG have 7 properties in Thunder Bay exploring for Cu/Ni/Pd/Pt deposits. Work in progress so I've been told.

Or following drill program beside CGG's 100% owned Thomas property:

Mr. L.M. Falzone reports
A diamond drill program on the company's 100-per-cent owned 120-claim unit
property in Thomas and Sheraton townships near Timmins, Ont., will commence
Feb. 1, 2000, to test up to four high-priority targets. These targets have been
outlined by induced polarization surveys previously completed by the company which
showed that there are two strong chargeability zones, as well as parallel induced
polarization zones that fall in similar stratigraphy to the Cross Lake zone and
Sheraton Lake zone 2.5 to three miles to the east of the Maple property. Up to four
holes are designed to test these anomalies for VMS massive sulphides of copper,
zinc, silver and gold in a way that will provide a cross-section of the geology in order
to identify key stratigraphic horizons.
Over the past two years, work in this area has shown the potential for a new base
metals camp which is similar in age to both the Kamiskotia copper-zinc deposits to
the northwest of Timmins and the Noranda camp deposits to the east. The style of
mineralization formed so far, east of Nighthawk Lake, is similar to the Kidd Creek
mine with high silver values, widespread zinc mineralization and volcanic fragmented
host rocks (pyroclastics).
