Yes, I remember Decatur very well. Along the Huntsville - Decatur highway, I also remember the beer "package stores" as one went from the "wet" Madison county to the "dry" counties to the west. They always looked a little odd sitting in the middle of red soil cotton fields right at the county line with no other sign of human habitation for miles on either side.

I also remember spelunking in the limestone caves east of Huntsville, primarily Paint Rock valley. That geologically Karst area was riddled with beautiful limestone caves.

It was in Huntsville, I really began my lifelong career of programing computers. I had earlier (at college) played with an IBM 650, but didn't get as much out of the experience as Knuth did (for those familiar with Knuth no <g> is necessary in this sentence).
