If you are trading you are, long term no. The best way to make a fortune in the market is to buy when others are selling, only good quality stocks like JDSU that is.

I also gambled a little yesterday. Already have a good position in JDSU but couldn't help but pick up more via an ETEK buy. At 200 you are getting JDSU for a little less than 182 which I feel we have a low probability of seeing again in JDSU. I expect strong earnings and coupled with the split in march the price should hold up well.

It wasn't easy averaging up like this. I just remember QCOM's move and how I should have added much more earlier on and don't want to miss that boat with JDSU.
Of course I'm double gambling as earnings are tomorrow and the merger is not a done deal but I know long term its a no brainer.
