Chuck,
My thought process is along the same wavelength as this Krewell guy. Q1 seems to have supply/demand somewhat in balance. I don't see any evidence of price war - yet.

Though Q2 environment may not be this benign, I think it is too early to tell if there is going to be a price war in Q2.

I generally agree...but what about those mobile cuts? Those seemed pretty dramatic to me....although I know one view is that they are just clearing inventory for the new mobile chip with the step--whatever...power-saving technology. Although I know AMD has picked up some mobile wins..there is still a very limited supply of mobile products with AMD inside.

I had a friend buy an HP 3210 this weekend from BB, but tried to find another laptop for her on the search engines over the past week. I did not have very much success even finding Toshiba or Compaq models (I didn't expect to find the HP this early anyway).

The HP model, however, was selling well at BB when I was there. The 3210 is the base model with the 433P and they probably sold 5 when I was there. The faster model (475p) was already sold out. Both models were advertised in the Best Buy Sunday ad.
