It seems as though you get the story perfectly. Even with the Panja 1000 shipping, I doubt we'll see the revenue take off in 2000, but I agree it won't be 10 years either.

The concept is correct, TRY to make a consumer installable device that won't require tons of integration and custom wiring.

My place is finally pre-wired for a complete panja system, but my budget is WAY beyond what would be required to be called mass market.

The company notes that more than 1 million TV's over $2500 were sold last year, that's a target market.

But there are MAJOR issues for Panja. The first is to find a channel partner capable of delivering and installing the panja 1000 that compliments the dealer channel. Clearly we want to see the providers of high speed (cable guys or telcos) getting into the act. It would seem the Panja solution has appeal as a BSD to the high speed guys. (Bandwidth sucking device)

In addition, we need to see the pricing decline and the deployment simplicity improve. Intel could be a partner that reduces the cost and perhaps we'll get a significant cost reduction via the Intel partnership over time.

But even with a telco partnership and Intel helping out, it may not be enough. We need to see a really big partner making a major commitment to Panja.

Who knows what it's worth, but given this market and the low float, a minor event could trigger a major move.
