Partailly true on the installed Sonet base. More importantly they sell the "stuff" that helps those cash rich old sonet players migrate to second generation architectures. I likes today's announcement as a more well defined link between enterprise level Gig+ Ethernet and Cien's 10 Gigi Ether in the Metro loop. The provisioning tools should also help old model telco's continute to sell their QoS services. Does anyone know the merrits of Cien's OC-192 technologies. LU must be studying their products as potential stop gap offering while they compete with NT and race to OC 796.
