Cable will evolve to fiber to your door, IMHO (see RCNC). RBOCs will get hammered due to regulation.

DSL is DOA. I have it at home, and yes it's fast, but even the RBOCs admit it is a stop-gap. And not for the reason you'd think. The consumer would like to believe that it is an attempt by the RBOCs to provide better, faster service to customers. BS. DSL unclogs the legacy networks, and routes bandwidth usage out of the congested voice traffic portion of the network. That's why DSL is so reasonably priced. They want you to get it!

As for LVLT... I see it as the ultimate fiber network (at present). LVLT's network is the most advanced, most scalable network on the planet. Built from the ground up using Internet Protocol (IP) design, the network is optimized for data traffic. It's the most B2B of all of the networks, as well. Closest competitors? GBLX and WCOM's UUnet. BTW, LVLT management built and sold MFS Communications to WCOM, which then became UUnet.
