Rocket, at the time that Dr J said he was happy with projections, they were at about 24. With that statement on record, we would have had a warning if it were lower, or Q would be open to one hell of a lawsuit. I think we will see at least 24. anything else that I, or anyone else on this thread, projects, is, IMO, a WAG.

RocketMan,

I don't agree with your opinion. You're are saying that if QCOM misses by three cents, they'll shave 66 billion of the market cap? A little extreme I'd say.

Under .22 and this is a $50 stock.

That would be 88 cents presplit. During the last CC, they said they were comfortable with mid-90-cent figures for this quarter (presplit). If they were going to do less than that, they definitely would have preannounced. They are not going to embarrass the analysts. You will also notice that 24 cents is 96 cents presplit, which is basically the figure Thornley told the analysts was a comfortable "starting point". So the question is not whether they will beat 24, but by how much. I'd guess 27 or higher. I don't hold out much hope for 30+...while that would help the stock temporarily, it would make forward comparisons that much more challenging. I think 27-29 is more likely.

Rocketman-Got to agree. Need a strong # to send higher. The market is so heavily positioned long(check out the drop in short interest)and looking for blowout #s. IMO, we need .27 to bring fresh buyers to the market. If Q can break .29, we have a short term shot at the mid 170s(50% retrace from the highs). The downside is .24-.25 will hurt. I see 120(50dma) as a major support. We are sitting on a very steep trend line(142) at the moment. Trend line can't hold forever, but it can hold for a while if we beat .27-.28. IMHO.
