Spoken like a true US citizen.

Have you ever considered just resolving your own areas of disagreement amicably.

Have you spoken to a supervisor in Waterhouse yet? Have you politely and rationally stated your complaint / request?

If you've done that and haven't received satisfaction, have you spoken to that supervisor's manager? Have you asked what other avenues are available to customers who remain dissatisfied?

Do you really think that calling in the lawyers will do anything for you any time soon?

Please note, all above questions are rhetorical. Neither I nor the thread have even the slightest interest in this nonsense.

FWIW,
Ian.

You may have a legitimate beef here but I think you are going to have to find your own solution to your own problem. I mailed the forms for a distribution from my rollover IRA on Dec 17. I was concerned since I was starting late and the holidays were coming. I made it clear that it MUST be a 1999 distribution (for tax purposes). The transaction was effected on Dec 27 and I had the check in hand by year-end. I have seen dozens of demands for class-action lawsuits on-line and I usually translate them as "I'am mad as hell, I'am not gonna take it anymore, but uhhhh...I'am not paying a dime for legal expenses". The idea that there is a large supply of lawyers willing to work free for years on someone's dispute is another silly fiction.
