Ah...Lee...that is the art in the science....success companies, IMO, do this quietly, behind the scenes...not in some bold, CNBC headline announcement....

If I would go back and research, I bet revenue estimates were raised after Dell's big August quarter..that's (likely) when the initial mistake was made....also, after the October incident, Dell had a grand opportunity to "clear the air" about Q4 (look, the stock was going to take a hit anyway..why not get everything out at one time)....I believe Dell failed to address it then too....two "artsy" (August CC) and (October "miss")..opportunities to sneak them down...
