Didn't see the API guesses posted.... Got these from YAHOO RIG....not from JoeDi but he did not refute them...

crude up 2.0-3.0
gas up 1.0-2.0
dist. down 6.0-7.0......quite a difference!
refineries @ 86%

Some question whether they will come out today because of D.C. snowed in.

John

Slider,
The NAO continues negative, but at a reduced level of -.3.
I expect it to hold negative through the week. So far so good.
I am thinking it might after a wobble up toward zero line we could get a real negative
reading like negative one+, northeaster likely then if other patterns match.

OXY/E&P's - I have not looked at the numbers again, but if the market ignores a 2nd quarter of great E&P earnings then I'd say we're going to have to wait until March for the E&P's to fly. I guess the market wants to see where oil prices end up before committing big dollars.

I'm still buying and holding large positions as I see little downside, just not so sure how much upside there is if we can't can't rally on good news after two consecutive quarters. Rather depressing.

PXD reports this Thurs and OEI reports next Tues. I will probably trim my E&P positions somewhat if these issues fail to rally on good news.

I can see the market being skeptical about $25+ oil, but these E&P's are cheap based on $18 oil. Almost everyone agrees oil prices will settle above this level for the remainder of the year. I can't decide if they're worried about gas prices plummeting again after this cold spell, OPEC increasing production or if it's just a wacky momentum driven market. Either way value investing just get's no respect whatsoever.
