Re the IWAV & JHF (John Hancock) IPO's: I won't copy/paste the "WorldFinance" analyses, for copyright reasons -- and I really suggest you DO go to the site to read their complete comments, for context. But briefly, their analysts predict a good first day for IWAV (80%-plus) -- but also expect "aftermarket erosion," which means aftermarket investors risk buying-in high and then having the stock fall-off.

Re JHF, they're not very high on it -- predict a "modest" first day (5-15%) followed by "aftermarket stability". Among other things they say that although it's a well-established company, its performance is also strongly-affected by interest rates -- which makes this a less-than-ideal time for the IPO to come-out.

Again, though, the markets have been so crazy lately -- especially when it comes to IPO's -- that these analyses have often been off-the-mark in terms of predicting the way a specific IPO will perform. So they're more useful for learning about a company's structure, finances and alliances than for figuring-out how the market will greet it...
