Tench,

Re:"strongArm"

Apparently it was a neat chip.

Intel has done el zippo with it in the market so far.

Is this another management failure to focus and get the job done in a timely manner or is there a strongArm based product around the corner coming to a dealer near us.

regards,

Kash

Re: "Paul, don't forget that among other things, Intel also obtained the StrongARM processor design as well as the IXP 1200 network processor from DEC. MPR said that this was "like Bill Gates winning the lottery."

Intel acquired not only the StrongArm but the StrongArm design wins and they are shipping high volumes as we type.

Thanks for the additional benefits of the DEC acquisition.

Re: "Maybe Stevie Wonder is having a severe case of sour grapes, wondering why AMD can't diversify like Intel can."

AMD's corporate charter is to take CPU market share from Intel.

They don't care about anything else - just Jerry Sanders' vendetta to show that he too can be a successful Fairchild Alumnus - instead of a copy cat.
