Dave, I just checked the DELL web site. I was a little confused as to why there were no options for RDRAM speed for PIII's at 733 and 800Mhz, so I called DELL.

The rep said that the base configuration for the PIII's at those speed grades was PC 800 RDRAM (400Mhz). The 356 Mhz is no longer an option for top of the line PIII's according to the rep.

I asked him how long it would take to ship a 733Mhz PIII w/RDRAM and he said it would ship within 4 or 5 days. He said the RDRAM supply problems have been fixed within the past couple of days. It sounds like DELL's finally receiving ample shipments of RDRAM (thanks Samsung)!

It takes longer to get the 800Mhz PIII but he said that's a processor issue not a RDRAM issue.

Of course I asked him about demand and he said it was strong.

I consider this GOOD NEWS.

Regards,

Doug
