CNBC just had a bit on Intel, AMD, price cuts, etc. Saying AMD finally has a competitive product at the high end, instead of low megahertz, slow stuff. Niles came on and said 'it would take a few quarters for AMD to get the reliability, yields, etc., to earn the trust of corporations'. In a few quarters, Athlon may be toast (Willamette is out, etc.).

I remember being on vacation in August and Niles coming on the TV in the hotel, saying Intel is a good bet for the long haul, but AMD would be better for the short. Sounds like he's flipped. We know he did on Intel, but I hadn't heard from him about AMD.

LSI had a blowout quarter, Semis remain hot.
