OT.OT....Well! I might as well get in on this tidbit. Born in York, Al. raised in Miss. Spent several years in Huntsville. Family still there. Visit 2 or 3 times a year. Memories include:

No Overpasses on the Parkway.

You had to join a bottle club for $1.00 a year and byob. ch as Amvets, VFW, etc.
There were several bootlegged clubs several miles back in the woods. Another choice was Ardmore, Tn.

Parkway City was the Mega Mall. Yep! Been a while.

Shoney's was the hot spot. Had carhops. Bootsie's Restaurant was not bad either.

No Hotels except on Memorial Parkway.

No one live on Monte Santo mountain. No one lived on the South Side.....where did those rich folks come from. Redstone brought or made them I guess. now along with many others like Raytheon, PPG, etc.

Enough already, Small world or Huntsville is a pretty popular place.

No rich kid...my Dad worked in the accounting dept., one of the first financial programmers. He built a house (sub contracted) in an area close to the fire ranger tower in the 50's. Corner of Chickasaw and Cherokee. Lots of fog but open spaces. My Mom and sister hated it but the boys loved the outdoors. Rock climbing and hiking. Moved back to Athens within one year.

Used to cruise Shoneys, go to the Chicken Shack in the sticks... after hours club ya'll were taking about and of course Ardmore...remember Glasses? Had a friend that played drums at the Amvets..Arthur Ray Hanson..only way we could sneak in the place. Athens is still dry!

Buying more Q if it gets in the low 130's....a temporary stall.
