I hope the brokers who call their clients and recommend buys/sells, etc listened to the CC. Very upbeat, no apparent hidden accounting, re-assertion of CDMA as standard with no competition in sight, active competition between GSM and CDMA in Europe looking good, China looking better than Europe. Royalty (value-chain) looking VERY good.

Regards,
Now I'm back to work

JG -

Europe for cdma Dr J discussed the present activity by some operators to get the 450Mhz segment available for commerical CDMA operations.

He said that competitors and I think others would put up a real fight to prevent this from happening but that the pressures of commerical advantages would work to make it happen.

The point is that if all that is going on I don't think we can expect much action on CDMA in any of the major operating fequency bands there. Europe IMHO is well into the future if ever.

I hope we don't see 'faint praise' tomorrow from the analysts like re-graded to hold or market perform or something similar.

I hope the Q can deliver some great upward surprises this year but the analysts seemed to me to be quite hung up over numbers, some of which weren't available or not disclosed. Its just that the questioners didn't sound at all happy, delighted or upbeat about the answers they got or was I mistaken?

Europe: - well I for one have never expected Europe so 'm not dissapointed.

Japan: OK but no fireworks?

Korea: Didn't sound exactly humming and I thought I heard heresay quoted in answer.

Brazil : Good

China: This year maybe first half

ERICY: - They may have said Q is supplying them but Q hasn't announced that

NOK: Still trying and trying very hard but not yet.

Royalties for the rest of this FY: Up but increase for current qtr may be lower than that just seen. Analysts homed in and didn't sound happy to me.

FY 2000: Q will meet expectations.

Future: very exciting. 1XRT and HDR later this year and hopefully next year.

Did the guys sound upbeat? Maybe this is just how they always sounded and maybe I'm a little tired this evening?

Best regards,

L
