Tip, That ever so handy investment income in the bottom line game. However, no matter how you cut it, Compaq's earnings and sales were down bigtime. The big message was server sales, where CPQ is the dominant player worldwide, were down 17%. And the new CEO said he expected a slow 1Q. The fact that they haven't sold box one by Jan 25 may have given him a hint. <g> However, I kind of like the cut of the new guy's jib. He seems to be trying to play the numbers reasonably straight. Something we cannot accuse Intel and IBM of doing.
