What aspect were you unhappy with. I see only one problem and that is with the 10M shortfall in cellphones for 2000 (80M expected, 70M projected).

Venkie, I think we all feel disappointed that we did not get stellar (no brainer) results. But you've got to figure Q management team built the best results they could given a bunch of issues (4:1 split, sale of handset business, 2000% growth, next quarter earnings, etc...)

Don't get me wrong, I believe we will pay for the next several weeks, and during that time the houses will buy, then Q will announce a deal with ?, the houses will reiterate a strong buy, the pressure will drive the stock price up. Folks will begin to speculate about a split, the stock will go up, and all will be right with the world.

Until next earnings.

Let the cycle begin again.

The stock has been a story stock if there ever was one, the story is widely know now. We have been given the tell I was talking about. The stock cannot live on earnings alone. Unless we get something better from company then earnings are going to be less then they expected, the stock will trend. I will go as far as to say that QCOM is only a trading stock, worse dead money till the end of this year. If you are holder of QCOM and cannot have money that is trending or dead and can't wait till the end of the year to see a new 52 week high, then you should get out. If you are trader that held through earnings your were gambling, and lost. The low I have been saying is 126, we are going through the 25 day line never a good sign. The best case I see would be the development of a base in with the low 130s as the bottom and the high 160s, worse would be the development of a down trend with bounce in the 115 range.

I'm happy a lighten up by selling QCOM and adding to CSCO, JDSU, and EXDS. I'm also happy to hold the remanding shares I have in QCOM.

Greg

Not happy with earnings?
Perhaps you should try Boeing or Coca Cola for more stellar growth potential.

Tonight has got to go down in history as one of the best sources for a new Marx Brother's movie if there ever was one.
