Help me understand this... CPQ earns 34 cents during 1999 and is expected to earn $1.08. MC was "comfortable" with
this figure. So....why are we talking about growth of 15-17%?

34 cents to $1.08 is not equal to 15-17%

'I think their time has come and gone,' Kumar said, saying one of the
only attractive things about Compaq is its relatively low stock price.
'It's a value play more than anything else.'

A "value play"...the ultimate insult !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jajajajajajajaja

I'm no expert here, but this is taken from your post:

"Revenue totaled $38.53 billion, up 19 percent from $31.17 billion in 1998."

Rudedog would be the one to ask, but isn't this significant in Q's overall plan for manufacturing efficiencies??

I recall EP wanting to build a 50Bill Revenue stream, but if memory serves, he sacrificed too much for it.

Dear CJ: . 'While they have lost some
share, they're still a solid supplier of PC hardware and I don't see
that changing.'

Well, thats just great, I suppose market will give them a 15 PE or so for THAT NEWS. jdn
ps: When sorting out CPQ best to compare them to a struggling screw and bolt company in the rust belt. In fact, they ought to move their headquarters, they are stinking up the high tech regions.
