Hi Mike,

She most likely was not positive because she knew she would not be making commission money off your transactions. Few people ask about LEAPs and spreads. She most likely surmised that you were an astute investor which puts her at a disadvantage to sell you "stuff" and have to answer your hard questions on something she has little practice or experience with. Sadly, you should hear the flip flop answers I get from so call "brokers." Nate, seems to be getting a fair deal.

Mike....I'm really sorry about the tardiness in this reply.
I don't monitor SI much anymore.

yes Dreyfus Brokerage Services (DBS) has continued to be a very high quality lo price option. Their prices are a little more than Ameritrade for stocks....15 vs $8....but their options trades are significantly lower....I think they are $15 for the first 10 contracts.....and maybe $1.75 for every one after that....so for 20 contracts...it would be something like $32.50.

more importantly....their service is really good....the young guys that answer the phone actually know something about options...unlike Atrade.
and their fills are fast...and they frequently get me an extra 1/16 or even 1/8.

I've not tried Mr. Stock, or some of the others...but I am staying with DBS for now
hope this helps...and sorry I'm late
