GE Power systems has a lot of experience in power generation as they had $9.5 billion of sales in 1999. the CEO of GE Power Systems Robert L. Nardelli is also a director of GE Capital and the # 3 person at GE. Mr. Nardelli is on the board of Plug and GE has created gefuelcell to install, market, and service the fuel cels.
GE's investment of $37.5 mill for 12.4% of Plug is not a lot in dollar terms but their investment in effort time and people and their name IS a lot. The model calls for the utility (DTE, SRE) to purchase, install the fuel cell and the homeowner to pay only for the energy used.
Since GE is the largest producer of generating capacity on earth I think they have the experience and knowledge to help Plug carry this forward!

MKTY is one of the parents of PLUG and MKTY has only 11.7 million shares outstanding and owns 13.7 million PLUG. MKTY also owns 1.9 million SATC and debt of approx. 23 mill and an operating division which should cover debt.
The discount of MKTY does not make sense to me and is a way to invest in PLUG at a big discount!
robinson Stephens just recommended PLUG & MKTY read their report as well as First Albany's (FACT is a major owner of MKTY) The chairman of FACT is the chairman of PLUG and MKTY!
