Man,

After wading through a couple hundred of some of the most short-sighted messages I've ever seen (interspersed with the occasional rational one), the following strike me:

1) The emphasis being placed in news reports of the slowing handset sales reminds me of the "shortage of parts" scare we had only last fall... what a buying opportunity that was...

2) For all the weak hands who are worried about what the market might do over the next few months, if a selloff comes, buy 2002 LEAPS, and then pull a Rip Van Winkle for 18 months. Not only will you get a great deal of leverage, but is there anyone out there who doesn't think the QCOM story in 2002 is going to be amazing?

3) For all the "dead money" proponents... If Irwin gets a China contract in the first half of this year, we move up. When NOK and MOT capitulate in the next few months, we move up. When it dawns on people that deployment in 2000/2001 of 1xrtt & HDR by the carriers, infrastructure manufacturers, and handset manufacturers means they need to be ordering chips and negotiating licenses in the next 3-6 months (remember, you have to test the systems before you let the public use them), we move up. When the reality of the royalty stream growth starts to sink in, we move up. When the mo-mo boys and girls realize they sold too soon and come rushing back in fear of missing another big up year, we move up. When it becomes apparent that most new 2001 car models from GM/Toyota/Lexus will include a CDMA chipset solution, we move up.

In short, bring on the temporary dip if we can... I'd love another buying opportunity at the expense of the shortsighted...
