Dear Victor: The 15% is a clumsy Capellas PR mistake.

I happen to think you are correct, which is the only hope I have. Just also hope he learns he is in no position at this time to issue lowered guidance. I am not impressed by someone who wants to set the bar so low a snake could crawl over. jdn

victor,

Just got finished reading your WSJ post. Very well written article.
One thing striked me. MC is striving to reduce expenses from I think from 16 to 11-13% while growing revenue. The 1,600 (4Q)+ 1,300 (1Q) headcount reductions will all add to the bottomline.

15% growth in earning plus another 7-10% in expense reductions = 22-25% growth in EPS. I like it.

Mikey

>>>I am not a COMPAQ bull, but I wouldn't mind betting that the growth in revenue this coming year will be 22-25%.<<< You are long the stock, have historically been too high on your guesses for earnings and stock prices going forward and yet you claim that you are not a bull? most recently you said that CPQ would go to 36 this month and that CPQ would be 60 by this time next year. Does that make you a bear? Even your statement above in italics sounds paradoxical to me. You can't have it both ways. El
