Thanks for the sight. Funny you should mention 1980 as the high, that was the year I got my drivers license and remember sitting in my social studies class that spring and the teacher remarking how gas might go as high as $.95 a gallon that summer. I was severely depressed over that prospect, how the hell was I going to be able to afford $1 a gallon. I mean I only made 2.35 an hour part time as pizza cook. The thought killed me. Funny 20 years later we are still around $1 a gallon. That was the year my parents paid $35k for our house, it is worth north of $200K now. That is what I call inflation.
