I've been pretty happy with Fidelity's Powerstreet Pro, $14.95/1K shares, Very speedy with a fast connection, afterhours trading...

Re Webstreet: I too have had a terrible time with them. Clerical errors one right after another. A look at their chart since IPO pretty much tells the story: finance.yahoo.com

I'm in the process of transferring funds either to Datek or Cybercorp... haven't decided yet and will do so in the next few days. I've heard good things about them both... Cybercorp will probably get you the best executions: $15-20 per trade. Datek is ten dollars market or limit order I believe. Both have continuously updating portfolio balance.

Rande, Datek at $9.99/trade has been good to me and with my slow execution (cable gets installed in 2 weeks) they have even saved me some money. Several times I have put in limit orders in a fast moving market and they have given me the trade at a BETTER price, instead of pocketing the difference. I was amazed when I saw the confirmations.

I am also going to open an account with AB Watley (wasn't available to me on a Mac system) for daytrading as you can trade off the screen, and with a 20K account L2 is free. Not as many L2 windows as the paid service though. Trades start at $24 I believe and go down from there based on volume. Everyone I know is very happy with Watley for instant executions.

Rande:

What are your thoughts on LPTHA at this point. Is it just resting and will continue up (soon) or are we in a holding pattern for some time. Thanks. DonnaS

my experience with fidelity tells me that a company that gives one special software is better at executating trades than one that uses a website.....if you use margin...which against all advice i do....they su#k....give you low price of day instead of closing price when figuring next day net worth an margin.....redwood
