Edwarda - Last year, CA bought Platinum Technology who was BMC's primary competitor in DB2 products for the mainframe. Nothing has changed other than the former Platinum employees (those that are still around and didn't defect to BMC) are still in business...only under a different name - CA. As to "more aggressive pricing", that's hard to fathom because Platinum routinely gave away software in head-to-head competition with BMC in order to gain market share.
