have no idea... i see 3 possibilities for goldshares.

1. in the early stages of the equities crash (if there is one -g-), gold and its shares LEAP to discount the crashing dollar and then goldshares reverse and give back 50% as stocks crash, and then are the biggest % gainers as stocks bounce.

2. we don't crash here, the bond goes lower, the CRB breaks out, and gold flies, senidng the shares launching. meanwhile stocks hit a marginal new high w/ the ugliest breadth and internals the world has ever known lead by only INTC, CSCO, AMGN, BGEN and small cap trash

3. Goldshares melt w/ stocks and then explode once the bottom is put in by Al.com printing money to avoid the entire banking system imploding.

#3 was possible in 1998, imo, but Al chose to print money.... i'm kinda leanin towards #1 rt now... but who cares... i own goldshares and i am short stocks... either way is fine w/ me.

bond should make a new low here soon and set things off.. hopefully...

my gut says the XAU will not close below 60 today and then begin to rally sharply tomorrow under scenario #1.. but there is no way to know for sure...
