Wednesday January 26, 12:28 pm Eastern Time RESEARCH ALERT - Compaq 2000 eps trimmed CHICAGO, Jan 26 (Reuters) - ABN AMRO said on Wednesday it trimmed its 2000 earnings per share estimate for Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSE:CPQ - news) to $1.13 from $1.19 after the company released fourth quarter results on Tuesday. -- In a research note, the brokerage said it took the action because of guidance from the company for a higher-than-expected tax rate in 2000. -- ABN AMRO repeated its outperform recommendation on the stock. -- It also maintained its price target of $35 per share.
