< I can't believe the E&P's cannot rally today...> BUY EOG !

Be happy they are not - this is when to buy.

Look at the weather nationwide, the huge heating demand and look at what this week and next look to be bringing as well.

This is what is so hard for individual investors to do - buy the selloffs and sell the rallys - they allways chase the run ups , only to get whipsawed and then capitulate & sell into the selloffs.

NG back up to $2.50ish - with excellent supply/demand fundamentals and poised for a strong potential breakout here.

Here is a gift - BUY EOG - Enron Oil & Gas (not ENE.com (VBG).

EOG:

Look at this huge, unbelieveable Institutional accumulation. My feelers are telling me that EOG is now THE fav' E&P large cap amongst Institutions.

Look at the huge accumulation last qtr and the 7:1 buy to sell ratio; literally 36.5 million shares bought vs. 6.6 million sold.

SSB has a note out here saying EOG in particular will benefit by this Winter heating demand & says EOG has the highest % appreciation in their large cap E&P universe.

Do it - Buy EOG.

fwiw; I go full throttle margin sub $15 1/4- $14 1/2ish depending on tape action - been buying on more margin here of late - sub $16 is a gift. Great technicals here - triple bottom from $15 - $18 since Dec - this move in Gas prices & the weather "should" lead to a breakout above $18ish resistance here imho.

I mentioned UPR earlier in the $11's - its here. SSB note today says earnings in line - no surprises. UPR will have $400 Million in free cash flow in excess of 2000 cap ex budget to acquire, pay down more debt, or to add to drilling. Few companies have this size of free cash flow - one hell of a club to be able to pull out of the bag in this commodity environment - MeThinks.

UPR is not an "easy" read for some - do the "DD" - a gift in the $11's - $18-$19 in Sept and it will see that again in 2000 - has to...
