Hi Glenn - the problem is that WCOM is still engaged to FON, and its stock is not a high flyer either, my impression - and just that - is that that unnamed hedger is trying to float a trial balloon. Of course, WCOM is not the only company out there. Mr Taub brought up some good points - that I ve not heard of - like the service turn around time, but he forgot to reiterate some others. There are many other benefits in PRISM. CDO disaster recovery and backup are likely part of the menu of services. NT is known to her ambition in ASP, so there is a possibility there. So, PRISM covers a lot of territories in one package, otherwise offered a la carte from COVD, EXDS and USIX. PRISM is a net infrastructure stock, which is more substantive than the usual value-per-click net stock. Also, I don't know much about Mr Nick Pontikes, but he is dealing with a business. Incidentally, he was an investment banker [he did get burnt] so I think he is smarter than to time the market. Rather, if WCOM, or any other telco [CLEC and ILEC alike,] for that matter, is willing to offer a big enough carrot, he may consider it - he has to. In the mean time, he is doing the best to maximize the potentials. Keeping the eyes on the ball is the important thing best, Bosco note: I am looking for an opportunity to add position, but we are in the trading range, so up or down a buck or two is exactly a concern.
