I believe my post I said that Miller would have a tough time getting reelected and that Orin failed in part in his Iowa caucus bid due to the fact he was perceived as a gov't. meddler and not a Republican free enterprise type. I said nothing about Orin's future as Sen. from Utah. JFD

Hello Dan,

Have you had the chance to read the following? Seems the 19 states are having a difficult time in agreeing how to proceed with "remedies" in the MSFT case.

dailynews.yahoo.com

An official in another of the 19 states, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also has hinted that a breakup - considered the ''death penalty'' among possible remedies - might be too disruptive for consumers.

Oh dear, this whole case is about protecting competitors, pardon, I meant consumers. LOL!!

Critics have suggested a court-ordered breakup could result in different - even incompatible - versions of Microsoft's dominant Windows software, which is entrenched as a de facto standard for running most of the world's personal computers.

Ah, the joys and efficiencies of government mandated "free" market competition. LOL, again!!

One expert said arriving at a unified proposal without significant dissent will be difficult because attorneys general - many of whom aspire to higher elected office - are sensitive to polls showing strong opposition to government breakup plans.

The poor attorneys general. I extend my deepest personal sympathy for their political difficulties. ROTFLMAO!!

BTW, and to change the subject, does sovereign immunity apply to the current lawsuit filed against the DOJ and FBI by relatives of the Waco victims? Just curious...

Regards,
JB

PS: Do you think that the honorable Senator Orrin (NOVL) Hatch might change his views if MSFT spent millions to open a campus in Utah? I wonder... It's so nice to view the strength of the ideological convictions of our political leaders.
