The World Trade Organization is supposed to get rid of disguised trade barriers, not meddle in such decisions. It is outrageous.....

Now the good part, or not so good part. They had to close it because of a new WTO ruling. That's right, it was unfair to workers in other companies in other countries because they weren't getting it. Somehow I get the feeling that the WTO shouldn't be sticking it's nose in GTE pension business. Here comes one world government. I bet Ms. Tudor will have a fit when the WTO makes her give back her stock options.

Better get some more info on this matter, Ish. Virtually every large company I know of is a multinational and they all dole out stock options these days - some like Oracle actually produce product overseas and some like Dell mostly just sell stuff but its only the small guys that do business only in the US. The US firms usually have foreign subsidiaries which operate autonomously from the mother ship and the pay packages are completely different from what we have here.

The difference might be that pension plans are regulated in some way that I am unaware of... I don't know anything about pensions, nobody has them - we only have 401Ks.

The rallying cry of the "One Worlder" lunatics: "Everyone will be treated zee same, or else"! It's just another form of dictatorship heading our way, nothing more, nothing less.

This business about the GTE program sounds very strange, Ish. Rather than spend time ranting about interference, I am curious as to the grounds besides what you have posted. From what you have posted so far, it doesn't strictly come under pension law, despite the obvious implication; it's more attuned to stock options at mature companies given to retain employees--the "golden handcuffs." Please share whatever else that you can spot as justification.
