I actually almost bought into a gold fund, but one of my bats bit me and brought me back to my senses. I'm just sitting pat and hoping for a 50 basis point move by the GreenWeenie -- what's that saying about "a snowball's chance in . . . "? Even though I "know" this market should drop 30%, I can't help but think of that AmeriTrade commercial with the meditation going on and the first guy pictures trading stocks as the most beautiful thing imaginable -- then joined by others. I laugh out loud every time -- great commercial, but I fear that everyone really thinks this now and keeps throwing cash in no matter what. I have never seen greed at so high a factor in America -- and American's are so deprived in contrast to the rest of the world -- very sad indeed. I don't like to lose money any more than the next guy, but sometimes I think a real crash would serve us all right.

I remain,

SOROS
