panic_mob,

<If eMachines thrives, both INTC and AMD will go to toilet. If it fails, both AMD and INTC will be just fine. There is no middle road for eMachines.>

I don't think it is about emachines. Yesterday it was PackardBell, today it is eMachines, tomorrow it can be someone else. If it is not eMachines there will be someone else who wants to do a cut-throat system for consumers.

<It defies all logic for INTC to feed eMachines that is aiming at chopping off INTC's feeding hand. Trade GTW for eMachines? If so, INTC is not only paranoid but moronic. Do I miss something?>

As I said recently, I think Intel is cultivating eMachines to ensure they can dump the low-end parts as and when necessary. In times like this when Intel is falling behind on the speed grades Intel needs eMachines more than the other way around. This may also be a defensive move to keep VIA at bay. I am sure Emachines will not have a problem going to VIA if Intel deserts.
