Most of the posting at RBull is just that - some real bashers over there, raging away. But there was a post put up tonight that I thought was quite thought provoking. Here it is:

Joe:
I think you far underestimat 2000 revenues.
Granted, Q4 was $2 million and times 4 = $8 million, or even take December at $800k and times 12 = $9.6 million. But, here are a few things to think about.
1. Q4 was very slow with NS business and CSX is still not giving NYRR anything. Have you noticed that NS stock is now down at $17 and change? They need to get a moving
and I think we benefit quite handsomely this year. Just 6 cars a day, 30 a week from CSX is equal to nearly $ 1 million a year. You know NYRR is talking Pres to Pres with
those guys, and something will come out of it, even if its a bone like 6 cars a day. Now let's look at NS - we have really been killed by their problems. We are about the only
game in town for them and I cannot believe that this year will not see them make major strides in the NYC market. I think that I would be VERY dissapointed if we only get 10
more cars a day from them than we did in Q4 nd that translates into about another $ 1 and a half million. Quite frankly, there will be major, MAJOR dissapointment if the above scenerio happens, and that brings us to right around annual revenues of $ 12 million (9.6 + 2.5).
2. Let's talk garbage. Think we can get 10 cars a day? Add another million and a half to revenue for that, and I think again, major dissapointment with only this amount. I think we shoud see almost 10 cars a day in Q1 compounded at about 10% increase each quarter. Let's make that 2 1/2 million in revenue from garbage. I don't know about you, but I'm still not happy about that!
3. Want to talk trucking? I know we continue to grow revenue by $30 to $ 50K per month, and thats another 1/2 million in revenue. Again, I see far more upside, especially as we get more NS and CSX business and that's without the 100% ownership, which I suspect is going to be done with more staock.
4. Remember the ISCTEA funding. Kisloff said just before leaving that there was major progress on that front, and with the Crawfords now gone the political climate should see
of that $ 12 million that was earmarked for NYRR. That provides funding for many capital improvements and upgrades the infrastructure.
5. Borrowing. NYRR is now cash flow positive, and that will end the private placements (I will miss them) and thAt should also be quite favoraqble to NYRR from an outstanding
share balance, investor PR etc. There has been a significant cost to NYRR in all this in the past 2-3 years.
6. The lawsuit. I know no one talks about it anymore, but it is still alive, and 1cent on the dollar is $9.3 million, which at todays price takes about 20 million shares out, or provides more working capital OR allows for NYRR to take on an acquisition or two.
7. The new management. What is Sal doing? Anything? Will he be able to swing anything NYRR way? His influence in that region is great, and he has to have plans or he wouldn't have taken over the Senior slot and spend a lot of time. Watch for him to take a sizeable stock position and also to get some share incentives that reward him for NYRR
doing good.
Oh, my friend, I think your estimate of $8 to $10 million for 2000 is extremely low. In fact, I think it is almost as laughable as our friend Jack Garnes - the fool! Let us instead think like this:
In 1999 NYRR saw a fourfold increase in business and absolutely nothing went right for them, except the trucking and maybe cocoa. NS, CSX and CP (forgot about them) were
major downers, garbage didn't take off, no news on the lawsuit, and still 400% up. Do that same increase in business this year, and we are at $ 20 million. While I think that may be high, bet you a steak dinner that revenue is closer to that than $ 8 million.
Oh, one last thing. We have not mentioned the T word, which is the real dangling participle. Don't be surprised if someone doesn't come along and make a REAL takeover offer - not this $ 1.00 stuff. Wouldn't surprise me at all. Do you really think ll this new talent came over for the salary their making, and the new Board leadership is doing
this because they are nice guys? No, not in NYC. They smell the big bucks and so do I!!!
