Milo <So I acknowledge what I SEE available.>

Did you ask if the lack of PIII was due to their selling as they arrive? And what volume?

The lack of PIII on the shelves could arise from many factors:

(1) Better margins, shorter shelf life for other models (Athlon or low-end)

(2) Lack of supply (small number & selling or high number & selling).

Without additional data for the observations, there are multiple interpretations as has been pointed out by others.

Milo, <So I acknowledge what I SEE available.>

Well, it's been over a week since I've been to the same Fry's, and I remember seeing one then (Pentium III 800 system from HP). Like I said before, a lot can change over the course of a week.
