Dennis, i have studied a monthly chart of the Nikkei in depth yesterday...funny enough, i found out that the period most closely resembling the run in the NAZ was actually NOT the bubble top, but the period a few years earlier. that clashes with everything else i'm seeing, however if the current correction is sharp and quick and succeeds in building up negative sentiment quickly, the possibility that we are in a similar phase needs to be revisited. note that i believe it is a legitimate endeavor to compare chart patterns of investment manias...not everybody agrees. apart from the opinions expressed in the article accompanying the charts, closely eyeball that monthly Nikkei chart: sandspring.com btw, the fibo retracement levels discussed in the article are of course also of interest.
