Sounds like the Sweet Tooth cafe. If that's it, it's still in business.

Either that, or the restaurant, forget its name, that was replaced by the China Pearl, which is Chinese and wouldn't serve you chili and beer bread for anything.

Restaurants tend to come and go in this place -- there isn't a single restaurant that is still owned by the same people who owned it when I arrived here 20 years ago. Not one.
