Random musings......

1. Thread Bloat:
As a thread regular, most will recognize that I have cut way back on my posts; partly because of other obligations, partly because I have nothing more profound to say than what is already being said. It is common for the enthusiastic newbies to post frequently, myself included. But I think it was easier to tolerate this back last summer while the thread was still new and there were fewer posts. I would encourage all of us to post less, say more. I think the PM route is particularly useful for the personal stuff, some of the fun fluff, etc.
The more successful amongst have retired from the Day Job, and have the luxury to watch and post; but even they should look at their post contents. After all, for Tekboy and myself, we're still laboring away helping the masses, and trying to pay for YOUR SS!

2. Given the carnage today in my portfolio, looks like I'll be working a few decades longer than I thought. I think I can forget about all those recently posted helpful ideas about capital preservation and growth for now. <g>

3. EXDS will report this week, and I will get back to the thread on this. I am expecting them to blow away estimates in revenues......we'll see. I'm sure when that happens, I can count on it to be further decimated in stock price the next day.

4. A wonderful friend of mine recently read the GG, joined SI, and has been lurking away. I am hoping to tease him out for Project Hunt, or similar duty later on when he can free himself of family, job and other lesser concerns (just teasing <g>). Should he post, under nosmo_king, please give him a warm welcome.....he's kinder, humbler, and smarter than me, so he'd be a great addition. I especially love his favorite quote, from Churchill.

Lindy, I definitely like this one. We, maybe Dr. J ahead of us, might think of it as the ultimate anti-theft device. Stick one in every car, boat, airplane, motorcycle, camera, phone, etc...and you'd have a pointer to every chopshop, fence, and stolen goods dealer in the country, or the world for that matter. How in the world could you put a price/value on such a device? If the auto insurance industry could be brought into the picture, (If your car has one, your rates go down 5%), then auto mfgrs would almost be obliged to make it standard equipment. Wonderful news.
