Lal, "The Blank Check Business Model". I love it. This is right up there with the with joint-stock mania of 1720. Remember the guy who proposed a company whose purpose was secret, but "of great benefit to mankind"? Subscribe for only 100 pounds -- 2 pounds down, the other 98 at the end of the month, when more details would be disclosed. At the end of the day, he had 2500 subscribers. He was philosopher enough to content himself with 5000 pounds (enough to retire on in those days) and left for France.
