Hi all!

Sorry I havent posted in a while. I have been swamped with issues at home and hadnt had time to post lately. As for the last 1/2 day of the Summit, there wasnt too much to report. Schmidt had a very good presentation to the partners. The one topic or point that he brought up and hit home to me was when he said the Firewall was a required bad idea in the industry. And when you think about it, that makes sense. The next evolution of the Internet B2B and e-Business. This means that organizations / companies / customers begin to link together in the Internet in order to make business transactions substantially more efficient. Well the Firewall's job is to restrict this traffic.

So a prime Novell objective is to develop and continue to mature their Network Infrastructure Services/Products that will remove this currently needed "bad idea" that restricts the Intranet from the Internet. This is where eDirectory will slowly step in to give the firewalls their golden handshake in the future.

That was the one thought that stuck in my head.

As for David Shirk, well Friday was the first time I ever saw him speak. I was given rave reviews on how impressed I might be when I saw him. Unfortunately I guess David had a "bad hair day" so I will reserve my opinions on his speech until I see him speak another time. His content was valuable, the delivery was moderate. To his credit, David also had lost most of his voice and that might have irritated him - the annoying cell phone in the audience clinched it.

All in all, I think the Summit delivered its objective to Novell's Partnering staff. I know as a partner I gain a lot of good insight and more importantly gained a lot of networking between other people during the 3 days at the Summit.

Thats all I can remember as other personal issues since has kept me too busy to think back that far.

Later all! Sorry for the delayed conclusion post.
