It'll translate to some pricing stability that all box makers need, even for a period of 3-6 months.

I hope so.

Dell's shortage of "components" MEANS processors or chipsets or both.

In prior announcements they have already said it was both.

If this shortage lasts another 3 months, I bet Dell will be on board or be "slaughtered" by GTW.

....and by CPQ as well. I agree.

From what I saw at the Gateway store today, Gateway is pushing the Athlon REALLY HARD. I think you are right. Either Mikey D inserts the Athlon or Dell shareholders might be sticking it to Mikey D.
