WUWT and et al. :) I agree 100% with you all - I guess I just didn't think that GAAP had direct policies for the varies types of business. Ok maybe it is NOT the the "company" that decides, but it was my belief that GAAP only stated that you had to match revenue with expenses.

BUT - this may be GAAP's jurisdiction (or whoever this FASB is). At any rate - stimulating conversation to say the least!! thanks for being gentle...

and I do realize that there are different way to recognize the revenue depending on the product etc etc...
