Surprisingly, I had raised the issue of subscriber growth with management on the april-98 conference call

Its been almost 2 years and they have failed to address the issue and/or make investors focus on different valuation metric if they thought it was irrelevant to them.

5 times in last 8 quarters since I have been following the company, the management has screwed up either on execution or on guidance. I think they definitely need to communicate better with the investor base. Also, on first mover point, there are series of companies which failed to capitalize on their lead- AMD, 3Com, Apple, Novell, Lycos and mind you, all of these companies were competing against the following. Intel, Cisco, Microsoft and Yahoo. CKFR also has MSFT against it. Yeah, you can argue that AOL and Intuit warded off the threat-but they had sound management and had few disappointments on the way.

I would hate to see this company go the first way.

Having said this, I am back in at 65 and trying to rationalize my move. By now, these guys are well experienced and seasoned and should not have any problem guiding better and outperforming.

(I have a lot of experience with savvy management teams as I do this job day in and day out and couldn't emphasize more on how important it is to communicate your outlook better.)

enjoy the bumpy ride, guys.

Right here on this board, I've read about four people that were waiting. How many millions of others are there like that?

Well, make it 5. My brother-in-law was waiting until post-Y2K also. Actually, his bank in Indianapolis was waiting until post-Y2K to roll it out.
