A, I asked myself the same question. I think it was because they wanted to submit "the bad news" in two doses but in close prox.

First dose weaker setting expectations for reasonable next quarter.

Second dose spending $1B and not gaining revenue from that investment for a year or so.

But they were smart to get all the short term bad news out of the way basically at one time.

Now they can rock and roll ahead.

Regarding the Snaptrack acquisition, has anyone considered that this would seem to have great potential in vehicle recovery following theft? Assuming the criminal couldn't locate it, or disarm it, the copy could track it in a heartbeat. Isn't that basically what the LoJack system does now? Only you can't phone the dry cleaners on LoJack... but you will be able to get electronic dry cleaner coupons sent to you as you drive past the stores with your HDR/CDMA/Snaptrack/GPS enabled telematics system...

Heck, you could even use it to find your car in the mall parking lot at Christmas, or in a parking garage after a sporting event...
