that's what I thot you'd say and I agree...
I don't follow DELL closely, but I would have no qualms holding it thru this very minor bump in the road.

so I don't see how this is any different than if I sold DELL Feb40P short today (I have no NP on DELL)

it would have the same downside risk, but if DELL takes off skyward, I would be limited in my gain**, but that's ok, that's the predetermined decision I made before stepping into this trade.
really no different than if I bot in afterhours and sold in a few days (or whenever) when it got back up towards resistance (whereever that is) for a trade.

It's just a different way to skin the cat... If you'd sold puts (or calls) on DELL over the last year, you probably made more $$ than if you just held it.
